MASSACHUSETTS COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN

MassArt, the only publicly funded free-standing art school in the United States, prepares artists, designers, and educators from diverse backgrounds to shape communities, economies, and cultures for the common good.

In my role as the Marketing and Communication Assistant for the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, it was my task to develop, manage, and provide strategic insights for the college’s social and content strategies across MassArt’s 15+ social accounts. I participated in and routinely led brainstorms to establish everything from daily social content, alumni engagement campaigns, and promotion of student accomplishments to large scale events such as the college’s annual Art Auction. Additionally, I developed, managed, and wrote MassArt’s monthly FOCUS newsletter aimed at highlighting the busy goings-on at the school. I interviewed students, alumni, visiting artists & lecturers, professors, and members of the Fenway neighborhood to showcase the many accomplishments and contributions of the MassArt community.

Key highlights from my MassArt work:

  • Developed the social media and content strategy for the Center for Art and Community Partnership’s ArtMobile, a mobile art studio initiative aimed at building community across Boston and igniting a love of art + design in the neighborhood.

  • Created and pitched key content (press releases, photography, articles) including the appointment of Dawn Barrettthe new president of MassArt, the MassArt Auction, and the MassArt Annual Fashion Show.

  • Worked with academic and alumni departments to promote a more centralized social strategy, allowing for better communications between disciplines and cross-promotion.

  • Developed strategies using analytics tools resulting in 20% increase in social engagement across all platforms and 60% increase in web traffic.
